Well, Mandy, this is what happens when you deregulate the banking industry without any sane institutional controls on risk. They created derivatives that were rated AAA by bought rating agencies, sold around the world to unsuspecting people and institutions when they were only worth squat without assuming a constantly expanding property increases, which the triple A ratings “guaranteed”.

It’s perfectly clear what happened. The only question is, how do we keep it from happening again? Do you trust the Free Market R’s to fix the problem or the Regulatory D’s?
