re: #448 Sharmuta

Well I don’t know about beg but you are the one who told me that we should try to change the GOP from within rather than without (through a third party).

Look this was going to happen especially after a such a bitter presidential term in office (undeservedly so IMHO) and the congressional whooping at the mid-terms followed by the final loss of all three elective branches.

The reasons I personally have not gotten involved have been my work situation (always traveling) and prior history of trying to get involved (which got stoned-walled by the Christian Coalition).

And let me be clear. This is not about a purge. This is an argument that everyone is having including many devoutly religious people who got together
during Reagan’s run for office because they felt themselves marginalized. This is what happens in America and on the whole it is a good thing.

But right now those that believe in freedom and liberty are now being marginalized in the rush to try to counterbalance the looming statism they see in the current administration and its partisans in the Democratic party.

That is why I am here and until I say something to piss Charles off, this is probably where I will stay.

Hopefully now that I have a different work situation I will get involved with the local GOP again. Mind you it is still in control of the Christian Coalition but I am a little wiser and much buoyed by the fact that here, I have found other people with similar issues and concerns.
