Fundamentalist GOP voters are not just antivax because they refuse to accept the science on vaccinations, they are against the ideology of the government telling people what to do for their own good.

But the majority of the Republican party does accept the efficacy of vaccines, even many fundies do (notably including the Duggars, who are seriously wacked fundies, but all of their kids are vaccinated). Anti-vaxxers don’t rule the GOP, hence the objection. In both parties, they represent a conspiracist fringe whose real issue is fear of government and large corporate entities.
