Sounds like an excellent idea to me, but is Barton really crazy enough to give up his cozy position as Official Historian to run for an office he is unlikely to be elected to?

It’s hard to evaluate just how crazy Barton really is. He might assume that he would really would lose nothing by defeat in the general. He could earn major martyr cookies from the ‘bagger masses, which could only help the income from his speaking engagements and book sales.
