Yup. Those puppies tend to have a fairly low CoG (it does help, certainly in strong winds) and a ‘bulkier’ weight to tire volume ratio IIRC as well as tires which are much more suited to operating in several inches of water than any normal road tire could hope to be.

…Also, trained, competent drivers. That makes a bloody big difference in tough(er) conditions.
