Reading some of the analysis of a nuclear exchange between India and Pakistan are quite unsettling. 10s of millions of deaths on the subcontinent from the nuclear explosions. Then millions of tons of debris going into the atmosphere causing the equivalent of another 1816 ‘Year Without a Summer’ with millions more starving to death in the ensuing world-wide crop failures. And possibly with the effects lasting several years.

This is why Nationalism in its current sense is dead. Wars have consequences that go beyond the boundaries of belligerent states.
