As a conservative I agree, and I blame Republicans. It seems to me that this [insert_name] derangement syndrome got started during the Clinton administration. I don’t remember Carter or Reagan receiving this level of vitriol.

I’d been thinking that, but I’m not sure, since I was nineteen when Clinton was elected. I’m not sure if my memory before then is accurate, or colored by the fact that I didn’t have a very adult sense of politics before Clinton.
