I don’t see things in terms of ‘left’ and ‘right’, and I don’t think there’s a pendulum. I don’t think that Supreme court ruling favors the ‘right’— if things had gone differently in the US and the unions were far more powerful than they are, it’d be a boon to the ‘left’.

But I do think that the supreme court ruling opens the door to bad things, and I’m glad there’s support for more campaign finance reform and for financial reform. I am saddened that there is going to be an enormous fight over financial reform even though it is abso-obvious-fucking-lutely necessary.

I don’t think this ruling us such a big deal. There are several states that do not restrict corporate donations and they do not have problems.
