Mexican-Americans actually look like a base we can and should continue to engage out West. And I think El Salvadoran-Americans helped out here in Virginia. Biden’s won Virginia by 9.3% which is bigger than how we won under Obama and Clinton.

I knew we were in trouble in 2016, when my Salvadoran neighbors said they couldn’t vote for Hilary because they said they had heard she was “evil” and “just as bad as Trump,” so they were sitting the election out.

These were people who were in danger of being rounded up and deported. They just didn’t see the connection between how they voted and what was about to happen to them, or their relatives.
