Mostly of the people I know are Doctor Who fans and think Cardiff is near London.

Honestly for the longest time I couldn’t tell what a Welsh accent sounded like. I could differeniate English and Scottish, English and Northern Irish, but the Welsh accent was a tough one for me. Wasn’t until I read some Shakespeare with a Welsh character that I saw that the Welsh have their own accent. And then my professor pointed me to a neat database of various accents.
