We originally went to 8i in 1999 - ya know the big y2k crappola. The first setup we had was a single very slow Sun server box and it was so sllllloooooowwwwww we were all over their case. We had come from a mainframe based UNIX legacy proprietary system (worked for TI) and is was FAST! To go to the world wide wait was regression of the worst order.

To move from fat clients to web based Oracle has been quite the experience..
Our Compaany has always been about running the fastest servers and the biggest pipes…But in the old days we called it SnoreOracle..
