Some weeks ago, hundreds of brave women on one day in Tehran walked in front of their homes and put down the Hijabs. Normaly, religious police would take them into custody for commiting sin against Allah (not sure if they mean the Islamic God or the Arabic translation for the Christian God, I’ll ask sattv4u2 to clarify), but since it were too many and they were close to their homes, police tried to ignore this.

Here’s another short, but very interesting documentary about Iranian women protesting against the Hijab, shortly after the Islamic Revolution:

They are shouting Azadi jahani, na gharbi, na sharghi! - Freedom is universal, not western nor eastern; thus mocking Khomeinis slogan that Iran is not western (capitalistic) nor eastern (communistic), but Islamic.

Today, those women would be called Islamophobic hate-preachers.
