That’s only because the people holding the purse strings have never been there. Mind, all the new weapons techology is great to the extent it saves our men’s lives, but at the end of every war, it’s always some poor soul with a rifle who determines who won and who lost.
Something Kipling knew about first hand.

And something more and more of our people in the Army learn first hand as well.

From today we’ve got a new Army Chief, General Sir David Richards, who knows this as well, first hand.
