I do not assume we know what he thought of abortion. He may have been a ‘closeted’ supporter, and I wouldn’t take the word of his ‘co-pastor’ who refers to the ‘abortion industry’.

But leaving aside his thoughts about abortion as an issue, which we do not know currently, what we can be sure about is that Officer Swasey was not willing to let people be murdered for supporting, seeking, or performing abortions. And in his willingness to prevent that he was doing his duty, and he lost his life doing it.
