and don’t forget that not so long ago Iraq & Iran fought to a very bloody stalemate. the fact that we are training & equipping an Iraqi army of some 300,000 has not made the Iranians sleep any better.

Iran is indeed a threat and more of threat than Iraq was, but don’t we say that now in hindsight?

How do we know what Iran has? I’m not being snarky. Or do we know like we knew what Hussein had? And that was after the inspectors had been in Iraq some 12 years before Bush took office. Even David Kay himself couldn’t say definitively what was there, at least before 2000.

I don’t like to say I don’t trust my government in these matters, but I’m not willing to go into another war for either faulty intelligence or fabrication. I can guarantee the majority of this country isn’t either. All I can say is, whatever we do, we can’t afford to make mistakes.
