The dumbest thing is that no matter how strong your personal security is - your passwords and your security questions and 2-factor authentication, the dumbasses in IT will leave open backdoors, or use password as the password to critical portions of the network, giving hackers total access to data (which unsurprisingly is all too frequently left unhashed and easily reconstituted to give hackers a bonanza of data). Or, it’s the company leadership that screws up and leaves their password written on paper so some janitor can come in and gain access for a nice payoff.
