A little speculation about Fox’s homeless guy:

1. He was drunk/stoned/mental.
2. He was a former Fox spokesface.
3. Cold.
4. Free-range asshole.
5. Sleeper Grinch.

I wonder if he set the fire deliberately. If it was just a frame covered with lights and garland, climbing the tree could easily cause electrical shorts that would cause a fire.
