It is only stupid in retrospect because of the public uproar. All they saw when they planned it was photo-op.

The level of planning to do and coordinate the fly-over amongst all the diverse government agencies involved shows the canned flunky is just CYA.

David Boze’s wife Peggy (who I believe worked at some level in the Bush administration) isn’t buying that this was a mere photo op. I heard her call in his show when it happened - she thought it sounded more like a possible fundraiser.

That’d be something.

If it was merely to get some pictures, they’re bigger idiots than I thought.
