Clearwater police arrest man they say raped and impregnated 12-year-old
CLEARWATER — Authorities have arrested a 39-year-old man they said had sex multiple times with a 12-year-old girl in the past year.

The abuse came to light after the child recently discovered she was pregnant, Clearwater police said Wednesday. Officials arrested Cesar Ernesto Alcivar, of 2236 Gulf to Bay, Blvd, Lot 217, Tuesday night on a charge of capital sexual battery.

They said Alcivar had sex with the girl many times, starting when she was 11. The incidents happened in an undisclosed location in Clearwater. Police said a local hospital contacted them about the case. The victim’s mother took her there because the girl was complaining of stomach pains. Doctors discovered the girl was pregnant.
Alcivar remained in the Pinellas County Jail without bail on Wednesday.
