I’m sure that’s true as well.
You don’t add a million-plus to your population and not encourage economic gamers too.
I like to think that there is a conscientious aknowledgement of Germany’s past transgressions in Merkel’s calculations as well.

The very first sentences of the first article of the German Constitution read: “Human dignity shall be inviolable. To respect and protect it shall be the duty of all state authority.”

They have done an admirable job of living up to that.
