Being a engineer, I’m reluctant to throw shade on other engineers except, like this time, when it’s well deserved. Too many times I’ve see designs proposed with absolutely no consideration for how it would be used in the meat world. The designer comes up with something they think is really cool and stops there. A little thought along with some use cases just might reveal the flaws but, like here, they weren’t done.

My long held theory is that most engineering fuck ups would never happen if Design Engineers had to spend a minimum of one semester in the field working with the Techs who have to maintain/repair the equipment. Like connectors that are easily accessible in the design lab, but become a nightmare to access once the equipment is installed in its intended location.
