The GOP has a hope of winning, but doing so basically means tanking the economy, and the country with it. They may not allow a default, but they will continue to stand in the way of any efforts to improve the economy between now and next November, then claim that the malaise is “proof” that Obama has failed and the GOP deserves another shot.

They are playing a dangerous game and I don;t think they have the best interest of the country in mind. If they push too far more people are going to start noticing this. If they go as far as doing something as insane as defaulting on the debt I think their personal and professional consequences will be pretty extreme. I’ll refrain from elaborating further.
