They simply can’t wrap their minds around the most fundamental rule of the internet era - once its on the web, it STAYS on the web..

Yep. Used to be that they could call up a news manager and “persuade” them to cut speech clips to avoid such statements. Then when the word started getting around about what he’d said, the response would be “I didn’t say that, and even if I did, you can’t prove it!”

Now? Everybody and their uncle has a cellphone, most of which come standard with megapixel digital cameras that pull double duty as crude video cameras, meaning even if the press tries to bury these sorts of statements, somebody has them recorded and on Youtube within an hour of the speech’s ending.
