Ping, an MRI is nothing to be afraid of. If you have an MRI with contrast, they will insert an IV for the dye and put you on the MRI table. Most MRI machines are closed, although some are open. You will be given headphones for listening to your choice of music and enter the machine for anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour , depending on your test. Some people feel claustrophic in the machines, it has never bothered me. The dye, (if used) tends to make you feel a bit warm temporarily.
Just make sure to pick your own music! Good luck to you!
