Well, I disagree. It’s a very easy way to literally get away with murder, for one thing.

I’m not saying every time someone discharges a weapon that they should be arrested. I do feel that, for example, someone who fires his weapon several times at a distance at someone committing a property crime in a residential area is a dangerous nutjob and should be arrested.

How about we only prosecute those who miss their targets? Then we’ll see a lot more responsible gun-handling and a lot more practice time, plus we’ll have a kick ass real militia if the Ruskies ever get frisky.

I respect your opinion, but still respectfully disagree. I remain concerned about the use of the law as a cudgel by anti-gun prosecutors. Sadly, Illinois has had a problem with such people. This is one of those issues where I do not fully trust the government.
