I don’t even need them. 2 to 4 times a week I eat at my favourite restaurants. One is owned by a Syrian the other by Lebanese. Very nice people and most certainly moderates.

The Syrian in particular is very religious and often says “God bless you” and other similar things to me in Arabic which I understand. Most definitely a moderate.

I know there are lots of muslims that seems very secular to you, yet muslim. But they are not muslim if you ask the muslims in the arab countries.

I guess its more of a self definition, and more a matter of interpretation. I just had this thought- if your not religious enough, your not muslim, but if you are religious enough, its almost impossible to be moderate. Which is obviously not true…
