This seems to me, ignorant of case law, to be rather straightforward: is there any precedence for giving a US President immunity from prosecution?

If no, then why give it to Trump?

My snap reaction in #44 was a bit pessimistic. There is a very good chance there will be no significant delay, and the DC trial will proceed in the Spring or early Summer and go to the jury before election day.
