A one stop shop for lightning bolts, floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, plagues, locusts, woes and tribulations ad nauseum. Why worship a variety of gods who have specific, individual areas of expertise in human suffering when you can worship one, big, Wal-Mart type god who can dish out all manner of suffering for a fraction of the prayer.

The only difference being that Wal-Mart will let anyone shop there, AFAIK.

There’s a certain amount of lip-smacking that some EndTimes types indulge in when dwelling on the years of Tribulation and punishment to be dealt out to others that I find, frankly, to be a kind of death-porn.
