remember Vai’s 90’s project with Devin Townsend that went nowhere but launched Devin Townsend’s career? I owe the man gratitude for that

I thought I was the only person who liked the stuff Vai did with Devin Townsend. The song “Pig” is one of Vai’s best, and Devin is the icing on the cake.

Interestingly enough, the making of that album turned out to be a testament to Frank Zappa’s prowess as a band leader. Vai thought he could contain the enormous egos and energy of the people involved (including Terry Bozzio), and found out the hard way he could not.
