As a fellow newb, my advise for newbs is to be very, very clear in what you are communicating. Reread what you write before you post; if it doesn’t read clearly, do not assume everyone will be able to figure out your points, especially if you are including subtle humor that could be misconstrued in multiple ways. Nobody knows us here, so they won’t know which way to lean when trying to decipher what we write.

Also, don’t take dings personal. For newbs it is more like the mother lion whacking the cub to stay away from a dumb action. Believe me, I have the bruised karma from a couple of initial comments that were rather poor in communication. I have tried to fix that rather quickly. This is a very different place in the blog world, but in a good different kind of way.
