I assume this was done by agreement between the two of you, in which case you each made an individual decision to allow the other a say. However, if we say it *should* be by mutual agreement, then each person is denied the right to make an individual decision.

It happens to be planned in our case, but you are underestimating the power one married person has over another. The pulling of plugs is just a good clear case. See Schiavo situation.
