I’m not sure. I had read earlier that they were going to allow Israeli and UN some power to screen passengers but I’m not sure if that agreement is still in effect. I sort of doubt it will help much with weapons smuggling because they can already get anything they want through the tunnels. Even with the crossing open it’s still safer to bring in weapons through the tunnels rather than the crossing.
