In the Before Time, when not everybody had cell phones, my gf wanted to give me a “beeper”.

I should have taken that as a warning sign.

I remember when my dad’s work gave him a car phone, and my mom said “Daddy’s calling from the car! Isn’t that neat?” This was when very few people had them, early nineties.
