re: #42 GeneJockey

I think we as a society have lost something with the disconnection of “meat” from “animal”. It’s led us to thinking that somehow buying meat in the grocery store is morally superior to hunting as a source of meat, as if no REAL animals were harmed in the former.

If you eat meat, you are on the same moral plane as the butcher who slaughters it. I eat meat, because I’m okay with that.

That’s our problem in this day and age. Most everything is processed with who knows what included. Face it. Most people don’t bother to read the ingredients. Even more couldn’t even pronounce most of what’s on the labels anyway.

Farm-to-table. Oh how I miss that during the winter months when the farmer’s markets around here aren’t happening. I actually discovered a farmer at my local market. His first year there. Pasture raised beef/chicken/pork. Had a ribeye from him a few weeks ago. The best steak I have ever had. Period.

Unfortunately he’s out of eggs for the time being. An owl has deemed his chickens easy pickin’s.

Now back OT… Screw all those Breitbart fools.
