Gutting intel agencies is a recipe for disaster. And politicizing the very agencies to get outcomes they want. Who benefits most? Russia https://t.co/PBOv6bjGCb

The downsizing of the intel agencies is more likely to result in critical intel being missed, the resulting intel getting politicized because those who remain in the agency are viewed as loyalists, and puts all Americans in danger.
That’s the opposite of strengthening the homeland and our security. In fact, the only ones who potentially benefit from an intel community purge is the Russians. And whatever terror groups we’re tracking currently.
Slimmed down - which makes little sense when you’ve got more and more diverse threats than ever. You need to be able to track nation level threats like Russia or China or Pakistan or North Korea or Iran, as well as transnational threats like terror groups. Each requires different skills and areas of coverage/overlap and different intel gathering methods too.
