One of the reasons I have been critical of militant islam is because of the theocracy (among other things). I’m not comfortable with anyone dictating to me about my relationship with God, or with any one else’s. It’s a private matter and it’s completely against all that I hold dear as an American. So to see my political party morph into the Christian variant is highly disturbing.

I mean- for them personally- they want to have their relationship with God be like what we see here… that’s all fine and good for them. They have that freedom. What they don’t have the freedom to do is use their office to evangelize the rest of us. I really don’t appreciate bringing faith into the political sphere. You start calling things missions from God more and more frequently, then you water down God’s worth.
