Yes, I can see where a company’s business secrets ought to have some law to protect them, to protect the owners of the company. Yet, what happened here is that Xue is being thrown in prison for stealing state secrets.

Also, note how little influence Ambassador Huntsman had in this. Ultimately there is little our government can do for you if you happen to be charged in China, if you are just a normal person and not someone important.
