Right. “I only have cash, let’s negotiate.” Which tells me he hasn’t experienced it at all.

You’re in the emergency room for, oh, say a broken leg. “Hey, doc, before you see me we have to negotiate.” Will you know you have to negotiate with at least five parties? (That’s how many bills I got, me and my ‘I don’t have insurance I have to pay cash” experience.) Will you know that your rate is HIGHER than that of most insurance companies? (I saw the comparison rate chart at both the hospital and at two doctor offices. Which matches what various reporters have found out.)

It’s not just derp. It’s the stupidity of someone who thinks the world should be as he would make it, not as it is.
