I’ve seen thing like that. They exist but are all over the place in terms of numbers. The question is just how far out you go with the tendrils of connections. All the way out to the farmers that grow the food for the MRES or mess halls? How about farther…to the suppliers and manufacturers that sell to the farmers? How about farther then that- to the suppliers that supply the suppliers of the farmers.

Yeah - It would be very complicated to do thoroughly. Of course, part of my thinking is that spending on weapons systems - a huge % of the military budget - is not particularly labor intensive; relatively few, high-skilled employees. But then again, since those employees get paid well, they are likely to pump more money back into the economy. But you’re absolutely right, there are a lot of tendrils.
