Wow…you never let me down, DF. I don’t think they’re worried about people with CCPs coming to the capitol building to commit crimes…they’re worried about some of those unhinged people they call their base turning on them one day because of a perceived slight (like a less than anti-choice comment, or a recognition of one of President Obama’s achievements)…you know, the kind of shit that sets off conservatives.

It only takes one angry constituent putting a bullet in you to ruin your day.

You have to show your CCW permit before you are allowed to bring your gun onto the grounds, and those who have such permits don’t draw their guns over slights.

The kind of unhinged loon would would shoot over a political slight can normally be denied a permit for being a unhinged loon. Lots of people spew violent rhetoric on the internet, but very few of them (and almost no CCW permit holders) will actually try to shoot someone over a political tiff.
