Trump’s neo-Nazi supporters aside, there are certainly economically disenfranchised blue-collar white working class voters who’ve been hit hard in recent decades, and in their desperation, they’ve embraced Trump.

No one ever told them that their world is gone, and it’s not coming back. The post-WWII environment for US blue collar workers was a unique experience, a historic anomaly. There is simply no way whatsoever that any future blue-collar workers will ever have it so good ever again; our economic competitors had been quite literally bombed into oblivion. It makes no difference who is POTUS. The problem lies in telling these folks - with brutal honesty - that the rules they grew up with no longer apply.
