Networks back then were token ring, 3-Com semaphores and I forget the others. TCP-IP was still the realm of of universities and government.

Ugh, my first network admin job was for a company that was half TCP/IP half token ring. It was also a mix of netware, windows, and AS400. Had ginormous 128k frame relay internet connection for a company of about 3000. I do not miss “the good old days”
