Good thing about this - it now places pressure on other players to do the same. And if Tennis bails on Dubai, other sports will follow.

Dubai is trying to build a “brand” that is a western friendly playground for the rich. If the elite athletes start bailing, the brand gets damaged.

Dubai can no longer prosper off of its oil.

Same thing came about when athletes and then entertainers started boycotting South Africa.

Dubai will get the choice of being rich or publicly hating Jews. They will go for rich.

I hear they’re not doing so well—the Dooby Doobies, I mean. Empty buildings, a gazillion abandoned cars in the airport parking lot—lots of fleeing ex-pats who, if they lose a job, lose their “green”? (maybe sand-colored) card—go into debtors’ prison if they can’t pay their debts…oil and economic woes. …and now, this? et tu, Andy? They may be saying? to which he replies: Yep. c’est moi!
