I agree with you at first glance.

Wearing an American flag t-shirt on Cinco de Mayo, however (though you didn’t claim it, the Administration is) is not analogous to wearing a “Rebel Flag” t-shirt on Martin Luther King Day to a mostly African American high school.

Administration is wrong.

Probably so, but kids are smart enough to put them in an impossible position. Most of the “outrage” stories coming out of our schools are massive simplifications, either through lazy journalism or partisan manipulation. Because kids are involved, all buttons are “Hot”.
