I would have thought it more proper for the Attorney General to make any comment about enhancing security for abortion clinics and clinicians.

As to “distortion” - I followed a lot of commentary about Obama’s voting on infants who survive late-term abortions. I had not seen any suggestion at the time that his position was “distorted”. All I saw at the time was that he was in a minority of one in the Illinois legislature.

After the lese-majeste by Gordon Brown and Sarkozy (no blame lies at Obama’s door) in failing to invite HM The Queen to the D-Day memorial ceremonies on 6 June, I would give even odds that she will turn up on the day. Unlike the others, she was around at the time, remembers the Blitz, and remains the head of the UK armed forces.

The Prime Minister of Canada should be there also.

It is a great shame that the few remaining vets who can travel to Normandy next weekend will be kept away from the beaches, for security reasons. Maybe after the “Great and the Good” have done their stuff, the vets will have time to go mourn their lost comrades.
