When I was growing up in Tennessee, I knew that I could get whatever I wanted from my dad if UT won. I also knew to keep my head down and my mouth shut if they lost. The greatest treason was saying anything nice about ‘Bama. I am not kidding.

A buddy of mine was attending the Air Force Staff College at Montgomery. He was out golfing with a local who told him the following:
“We have two seasons in Alabama, Beer and Bourbon”
“Alabama/Auburn: Don’t get involved”
