Some years ago, I was teaching at a middle school in Alameda. I still recall standing in the lobby, as the school ‘Caroleers’ from the band played “Silent Night”.

The lead flute-player was an Afghani kid wearing a headscarf.

I love Alameda…I lived on Bay Farm for about 6 months…Did I say I love Alameda? I like Park Street also
