Note that some of the big name countries he’d really like to seek asylum in have basically said “Sorry, but you have to be on our soil.” Wonder if Assange is looking to pull another disappearing act to get him out of the terminal long enough to reach one of their embassies in Russia.

The kicker would be what happens if he leaves the transit terminal and does *not* get to an embassy. Then he’d be arrested for illegally being in Russia and pretty much at their mercy. And their obvious solution, since he is a US citizen, would be to toss him on a plane and deport him to the US.
