At least my military training was actually on the same thing I still have to this day - the M1911A1. Carried one for Uncle and still like the old beast.

Also had to learn the M16 but we all have our less pleasant memories.

Had one day of transition/familiarization to the Mattel rifle. Got my TRADOC instruction cert for a class on disassembly of the 1911, though I’ve never fired one. (Did do the Jericho and DE in Israel.)
