sorry but I do wear a hat indoors a ortho jew wears a hat to show respect for G-D. what gentiles do is there bus. but please understand there is more than one way to do most everything. including hats.

It’s basic etiquette for a man to take his hat off when he goes inside. It’s regulation in the military, unless you’re under arms.
